Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policy

PAYMENT POLICY

All fees must be paid in full before the commencement of any program, workshop, retreat, class or individual session. Payment can be made by credit, e-transfer (breathemindfulnesscentre@gmail.com) debit and/or cash.   You must arrange with the Centre payment by e-transfer, debit or cash. Such payments must be processed before your spot is reserved in an event. Cheques are not accepted.

In order to make our therapeutic groups more accessible to everyone, payment plans are available for those who require it.  A valid credit card is required for this option with the first payment being charged when you reserve your spot in a program.  Subsequent payments will be charged either monthly or weekly thereafter for the duration of the payment plan chosen.  The cancellation, refund and exchange policy (below) continues to apply to those accounts choosing the payment plan option.  

For workshops, should the fee be an obstacle for you, we have a “Generosity Policy”.  In these instances please choose to pay what you can upon attendance.  Registration for the workshop is still required as space is limited.

You can register and pay for programs, workshops, retreats and classes online. If you wish to register and pay for an event in person , please call in advance to arrange payment and to ensure spots are still available.

PROGRAM/WORKSHOP/RETREAT/CLASS CANCELLATIONS BY CENTRE

If your program, workshop, retreat or class is cancelled by the Centre, you are entitled to a full refund. Wherever possible, you will be contacted at least three business days’ prior to the start date of the program if a cancellation is made. This excludes cancellations due to snow storms or other inclement weather, in these instances please see our Cancellation Due to Inclement Weather Policy below.

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES

THERAPEUTIC PROGRAMS

Refunds:
If you give at least five (5) days’ notice before the program’s start date you will receive the full tuition less a $35 administration fee.  Please note the orientation & interview session for our clinical programs qualifies as the start date.

If you give less than five (5) days’ notice before the start date of a program no refund will be available.

As a result of the orientation session, should it be decided between the facilitator and participant that the MBCT program is not beneficial to you at this time you will receive a full refund.

After the program has begun no refund, exchanges or transfers will be available.

Missed sessions will not be refunded.

Exchanges:
If you give at least five (5) days’ notice before the program’s start date you can apply the full tuition amount as a credit to a future program.

If you give less than five (5) days’ notice prior to the start date of a program you can apply the full tuition amount less a $35 administration fee as a credit to a future program.

After the program has begun no refund, exchanges or transfers will be available.

WORKSHOPS, RETREATS AND CLASSES

Refunds:
There are no refunds granted for workshops or retreats, only exchanges (see below).

Exchanges:
If you provide at least five (5) days’ notice of cancellation before the workshop or retreat’s start date you can choose to apply the fee to a future workshop or retreat. You may only make an exchange once.

If you give less than five (5) days’ notice prior to the start date of a workshop or retreat, no exchanges will be available.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING/SESSIONS

The fee for individual counselling sessions is $180 per 50 minute session (+10 minute administration time). This fee is also applied to any external meetings, letters and/or reports that are requested on your behalf. Our fee for a 50 minute couple’s or family counselling session is $195. Fees are required at the commencement of each service.

Cancellation Policy for Individual Session:
24 hours notice (or by 12 noon Friday for Monday appointments) is required to change or cancel an individual session to avoid being charged.  48 hour’s notice is required for two hour sessions to avoid a charge. This allows us to fill the session with someone else on our waiting list and utilize our time effectively. Failure to give sufficient notice will result in a charge of the full amount of the reserved session.

Please note that most insurance companies and EAP’s do not accept receipts for missed appointments so please give sufficient notice to avoid unnecessary cost to you.

CANCELLATION DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

There will be no cancellation charge should a program session, workshop, retreat, class or individual session be cancelled due to a snow storm and it is dangerous to drive or due to the occurrence of other natural weather disasters that create a state of emergency or power outage in the city. In these circumstances, cancellation of a program session, workshop, retreat, class or individual session will be determined by the Centre and indicated on our voice message service (902-499-0089) by 7 am for morning and afternoon events and by 1 pm for evening events.

For Therapeutic Programs, the weekly sessions will be extended to accommodate a session that may need to be cancelled due to inclement weather.

For Workshops and Retreats, an alternate date will be offered to transfer credit to. This credit can be used towards any future workshops or retreats should the alternative date not be possible.

For Classes and Individual Sessions, no cancellation charge will apply or a full refund will be granted.
