Each session is approximately 2.5 hours long and is organized around a theme that is explored through short talks\, experiential exercises\, group inquiry and mindfulness meditation practices. Digital materials to reinforce session themes and support home practice are provided. Commitment to attendance and home practice is an essential component for participation in and effectiveness of the program.  \nDay of Silent Retreat\nIn addition to these sessions\, there will be one full-day mindfulness silent retreat held  between weeks 5 and 7. Although this is not mandatory\, it is highly recommended to attend. \n\n\nIs this program for me?\nThis program is designed for anyone experiencing mild to moderate depression or anxiety\, who has a history of depression and/or those interested in learning a set of strategies designed to help manage mood and promote long-term wellness. SUMMARY:Sound Healing and Breathwork Session with Pamela at Breathe Mindfulness Centre - Wolfville\, NS
DESCRIPTION:Pamela has been studying various alternative healing practices her whole life after becoming a reflexologist as a teenager. Pamela has had a love for Sound Healing and Breathwork for a long time and been teaching and guiding for several years. \nThere’s a quiet kind of magic that happens when sound and breath come together. Ancient wisdom backed by science. \nGentle tones from sound healing instruments send soothing signals through the body and the nervous system and invite a sense of calm. These vibrations support the brain in shifting into relaxed\, healing states—where clarity\, rest\, and emotional ease naturally arise. \nPaired with conscious breathwork\, the effects deepen. Breath becomes an anchor\, gently slowing the heart\, softening stress\, and creating space for the body to release tension and emotion it may have carried for far too long. \nTogether\, breath and sound offer a reset—a return to your center. A reminder that peace and connection are always available\, just a few breaths away. \nFee:  $35 \nTo book:\nBlessYourPath.com \nBlessYourPath@gmail.com \n902-292-3433

SUMMARY:Free Yoga Series with Kirk Johnson - Wolfville\, NS
DESCRIPTION:Join us in Wolfville every Tuesday evening\, 6:30-7:30PM\, from August 5th – September 9th\, for a gentle and mindful one-hour yoga practice rooted in classical traditions. Our focus will be on grounding breath work (pranayama) and on gentle movement (asana). We will learn some simple mantras and give time for quiet reflection (savasana)\, all facilitated by Kirk Johnson\, a Trauma-Aware Hatha Yoga Instructor. Trauma awareness means recognizing that everyone arrives with different experiences behind them. This approach emphasizes choice with options and space for you to move in a way that feels right for you. It’s important to us that your experience feels safe and beneficial. \nThe location is at Breathe Mindfulness Centre in Wolfville offering a welcoming and beautiful studio space for practice. No experience needed. All levels and backgrounds are welcome. Bring a yoga mat\, water\, and anything you need to feel supported. We have extra yoga mats and lots of blankets\, bolsters\, blocks and cushions for you to use too. If you never tried yoga before\, this might be your chance to see what it is all about. \nThough these classes are offered for free\, there is an option when you book to “Pay What You Want” with 100% of donations going to Open Arms\, a non‑profit organization in Kentville focused on addressing homelessness and supporting vulnerable individuals. The suggested donation is $20\, which is the average cost of a yoga class. You are invited to book and participate without a donation too. Just put “0” in the pay option when it comes up. Book one of the classes\, or all of them as there are multiple dates to choose from through August and September. Please come ten minutes early to class. \nSpace is Limited.\nPre-registration is required. \nKirk has completed his 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) training\nThese free classes are part of Kirk’s practice teaching. \nPlease note:\nThese classes offer a somatic\, mindfulness-based approach to support overall wellbeing. While grounding and therapeutic\, they are not psychological or medical services and are not a substitute for professional care. \nRegistration Link:\nmendandmoveyoga.com\nContact:\nBlessYourPath@gmail.com \n902-292-3433

SUMMARY:Mindfulness Basics Full-Day Intensive Therapeutic Retreat - Wolfville\, NS
DESCRIPTION:January 10\, 2026\, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm\nCome rest and explore how mindfulness can strengthen your resilience and soothe the effects of stress throughout the body and mind. This retreat will guide you in establishing a sustainable\, consistent practice and integrating the transformative benefits of mindfulness into your life right away.\nCovered by most private insurance. Facilitated by: Jacqueline Milner\, Registered Psychologist/Advanced Certified Mindfulness Teacher \n\nThis full-day intensive is an adaptation of the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program which introduces you to the core skills\, practices\, and principles of mindfulness and provides you with an opportunity to incorporate mindfulness into your life right now in a way that is both impactful and beneficial to you. A variety of practices will be offered to assist you in discovering what works for you and ways to begin to establish your own personal practice.\n\n\n\n\nTHE PROGRAM IS AIMED AT HELPING YOU:\n1. Work more effectively with stress\, pain and illness as well as the challenges of life\n2. Cope with anxiety\, depression and coping with feelings of being out of balance and overwhelmed\n3. Respond rather than react to difficulties and stress\n4. Cultivate a sense of well-being and confidence\n5. Live a more intentional and engaged life.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT TO EXPECT:\nParticipants will meet in person as a group. The activities of the Mindfulness intensive will include short talks\, experiential exercises\, meditation\, mindful movement\, and group discussions.\n\n\n\n\nDAILY SCHEDULE\n9:15am – 9:30am Sign-In\n9:30am – 12:30pm Morning Session (with a 10-minute break)\n12:30pm – 1:30pm Lunch Break\n2:00pm – 4:30pm Afternoon Session (with a 10-minute break)\n\n\n\n\nIS THIS FOR ME?\nThis group is open to anyone who is time-limited and still would like an opportunity to experience the transformational skills of mindfulness within an immersive\, retreat experience. This intensive retreat is also for health professionals who wish to begin integrating the core skills and principles of mindfulness into their work and/or are in much need of an opportunity to simply care for themselves.\n\nPlease keep in mind that this 1-day program is a more “intense” and immersive experience than an MBSR program that is offered over several weeks. Deep listening to one’s needs and responding with self-care throughout the day is encouraged.\n\nMindfulness teachers are committed to helping participants feel safe and supported during the course. However\, participants agree at the outset that they will take primary responsibility for their emotional wellbeing. If you are unsure\, please contact Breathe Mindfulness Centre for further discussion of the best fit for your circumstances. Meditation experience is not required.\n\nShould you have difficulty registering online\, contact admin@breathemindfulness.com\n\n *Privately offered therapeutic programs/groups are not covered under MSI. However\, those with extended healthcare benefits (i.e.\, private health insurance) may be eligible for reimbursement. Please contact your health insurance provider for details as to whether therapeutic group sessions offered by a Registered Psychologist are covered.\n\n\n\nCompleted registrations indicate understanding and acceptance of our Payment\, Cancellation and Refund Policy. \nCLICK HERE for our policies \nRegistration\nEnrolment is limited. Pre-registration is required as are enough enrolments for the program to run.  After you purchase your ticket (below)\, you will be emailed further required information to complete your registration for the program.

SUMMARY:The Ocean Pause: A Mother’s Day Retreat for Women at The Quarterdeck Resort
DESCRIPTION:A Weekend of Deep Rest and Renewal\nMay 8th – 10th\, 2026 \nHosted at The Quarterdeck Resort Beachside Villas & Grill in Summerville Centre\, NS  \nFacilitated by Jacqueline Milner\, Psychologist and Director\, Breathe Mindfulness Centre \nYou are the anchor.  But even the anchor needs the shore.\nFor mothers\, caregivers\, leaders\, and women navigating the transformative tides of midlife\, this is your invitation to exhale. \nSo much of life is spent holding – family\, work\, responsibility\, and the quiet emotional labor that keeps everything moving forward. In that constancy\, it is easy to lose your own rhythm. This Mother’s Day weekend\, we invite you to the edge of the Atlantic to gently put the weight down. To be held by the ocean long enough to remember who you are when you aren’t needed – only present. \n\nThe Intention\nGiving back to those who give so much. \nThis weekend is grounded in evidence-based mindfulness\, gentle movement\, breathwork\, and guided rest\, with a particular sensitivity to women’s nervous systems – especially during midlife and caregiving years. \nThe intention is to support: \n\nNervous-system regulation and emotional settling\nPhysical and mental replenishment\nImproved rest and sleep\nA renewed sense of steadiness and inner spaciousness\nIntegration that carries gently into daily life\n\n\n\n\nWhat the Weekend Includes\nMindful Mocktails and Opening Savoring Practice \nA guided sensory welcome introducing the practice of mindful savoring — lingering with what is pleasant and noticing what feels nourishing. Through taste\, scent\, pacing\, and pause\, this opening evening sets the tone: slowing down\, arriving fully\, and listening inward. \n  \nMorning Gentle Yoga and Breathwork \nTwo grounding morning sessions of slow\, mindful movement and breath awareness\, designed especially for midlife bodies and varying energy levels. Always optional and choice-based; no prior experience is required. \n  \nThe Changing Tides Circle (Optional) \nExploring Women’s Transitions \nA gently facilitated morning circle offering science-informed insight and practical guidance for navigating perimenopause\, menopause\, and post-menopause. \nTogether\, we explore: \n\nCommon physical\, emotional\, and nervous-system shifts in midlife\nExperiences many women carry quietly\nEvidence-informed strategies to support energy\, mood\, sleep\, and stress\nOptional sharing to reduce isolation and foster perspective\n\nListening is participating. There is no expectation to share. \n  \nEvening Ocean-Inspired Yoga Nidra – Deep Rest \nTwo distinct guided practices — one releasing what you carry\, the other settling into the stillness beneath the waves. Both support nervous-system regulation and deep\, restorative sleep. \n  \nSpacious\, Unstructured Time \nIntentional space for rest\, reflection\, ocean walks\, the sauna\, the pool\, or doing nothing at all — because restoration cannot be rushed. \nBetween guided sessions\, you are invited to walk the shoreline\, journal\, nap\, or simply sit with the sea without agenda or expectation. \nHere\, rest is not a pause from the weekend. It is the heart of it. \n\nThe Setting and Registration\nSet along Nova Scotia’s South Shore\, The Quarterdeck Resort offers a naturally calming coastal environment where the rhythm of the ocean supports restoration without effort. \nBooking Your Experience\nRegistration for the entire weekend is managed directly through the Quarterdeck. \nReserve Your Place at The Ocean Pause/ See Intinerary \nThe Retreat Package – $599 plus HST (per person\, based on double occupancy). \nYour booking includes a two-night stay in a Seawood two-bedroom apartment featuring full kitchen and ocean-view terrace\, the complete Ocean Pause retreat curriculum with all facilitated sessions\, and a curated welcome gift to support your restoration. \nEnjoy the flexibility of preparing meals in your private kitchen or reserve a table at the oceanfront restaurant and order from the à la carte menu. Reservations are recommended to ensure availability. \nIs This For You?\nThis weekend is inclusive of all women and may be especially supportive if you: \n\nCarry responsibility for others—at home\, at work\, or in leadership roles.\nAre navigating midlife transitions\, change\, or renewal.\nFeel quietly depleted\, overstimulated\, or stretched thin.\nLong for rest that doesn’t require effort or performance. \n\n\n\nBegin Your Ocean Pause!
