SUMMARY:Half-Day Silent Mindfulness Meditation Retreat
DESCRIPTION:A 4-hour silent retreat to restore and rejuvenate mind\, body\, and soul.\nCome experience the restorative and rejuvenating benefits of a silent meditation retreat in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. This half-day silent retreat is intended to deepen one’s practice of mindfulness as well as offer an introduction to a silent retreat experience and mindfulness practices. \nWhat to expect\nLed by Jacqueline Milner\, an experienced and accredited mindfulness teacher\, participants will be invited to engage in a variety of mindfulness-based practices\, both movement and still\, in the context of approximately 4 uninterrupted hours of silence. A nutrition break will be scheduled around mid-way of the retreat where light refreshments will be offered (vegan and gluten free options will be available). There will be an opportunity to reflect upon and share your experience with the facilitator and fellow participants at the end if desired. \nIs this for me?\nThis half-day\, accessible silent retreat is open to anyone who is curious about mindfulness and/or a silent retreat experience or who has an ongoing practice and would like to bask in a more immersive experience with others. \nAlthough no previous meditation experience is required\, please be aware that during this retreat\, there will be extended periods of silence and practices will be longer in duration to facilitate immersion and deepening of one’s experience. \nPlease note exchanges only are available up to 5 DAYS prior to start of the workshop. SUMMARY:Decreasing Stress and Enhancing Joy: A Holistic Approach to Wellness - 4-Week Program
DESCRIPTION:RESCHEDULED \nA 4-week program focused on cultivating a calmer\, more fulfilling life.\nStress is an inevitable part of life that is experienced by everyone.  When stress is not useful\, severe and/or chronic\, it can have a significant negative impact on your well-being.   In this 4-week program\, we will explore what stress is\, and its impact on our well-being and be offered guidance and practical tools to decrease stress\, increase resilience\, and enhance joy and overall wellness. \nWhat to expect\nIn this program\, participants will meet as a group for 2 hours once a week for 4 weeks.  Each week\, guidance\, exercises\, and tools will be offered to address one of the 4 dimensions of wellness:  Body\, Mind\, Emotions and Spirit.  Mindfulness principles and practices will be a consistent theme throughout the program given the increasing scientific support of its helpfulness in working skillfully with stress and other difficult emotions.  Home practice will be encouraged\, and resources provided to support your well-being after the program has ended.  This program intends to teach you how to care for yourself fully\, build resilience and increase calm and happiness in your life. \nIs this for me?\nThis program is open to anyone who would like to learn ways to reduce stress\, increase resilience and enhance wellness and joy in their lives as well as experience some of the practices of mindfulness.  Meditation experience is not required\, all are welcome! \n* Most private health insurance covers the cost of this program.
