SUMMARY:Monthly Mindfulness Maintenance Meetings (MMM)
DESCRIPTION:Deepen and maintain your mindfulness practice with these monthly group sessions.\nFacilitated by: Andrea Ennis\, Clinical Psychologist and MBSR Teacher \nKeep your practice going and be supported by others by committing to these monthly 90-minute group sessions for graduates of Mindfulness-Based Programs (including MBSR\, MBCT\, and MSC). \nWhat to expect \nKeeping up with a regular mindfulness practice after course completion can be challenging. These sessions provide an opportunity to support your practice by coming together with a group of other graduates. \nMindfulness Maintenance Meetings (MMM) are offered monthly (the first Tuesday of each month) for 90-minutes. Each meeting will include between 40-60 minutes of guided mindfulness practice (including options for seated\, lying down\, and movement-based practices)\, followed by facilitated group discussion and time for informal discussion and questions. \nPrior to attending your first Mindfulness Maintenance Meeting you will be required to register through our online scheduling system (JaneApp). If you did not complete your Mindfulness Based Program(s) through Breathe Mindfulness Centre or Dartmouth Psychological Services\, you will be required to complete consent and registration forms prior to attending your first meeting. \nIs this program for me? \nThis program is offered exclusively to those that have already completed a Mindfulness-Based Group Program\, either through the Breathe Mindfulness Centre or another agency. \nPrivate health insurance may cover the cost of these group sessions.  Please contact your insurance provider to determine whether therapeutic group sessions offered by a Registered Psychologist are covered. \nPre-registration is required for each session. Space is limited and groups will run with between 4-12 participants. \nCompleted registrations indicate understanding and acceptance of our Payment\, Cancellation and Refund Policy. \nCLICK HERE for our policies \nRegistration \nEnrolment is limited. Pre-registration is required as are enough enrolments for the program to run. \nREGISTER HERE \n

SUMMARY:Mindful Self-Compassion - DARTMOUTH IN-PERSON Short Course (6 Weeks)
DESCRIPTION:Address your inner critic and begin to experience a kinder\, more supportive relationship with yourself.\nFacilitated by:  Jacqueline Milner\, Registered Psychologist/Certified Mindfulness Teacher. \nThis short course is an adaptation of the empirically supported 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion program designed to begin cultivating the skills of self-compassion for those who are time limited. Research shows that self-compassion significantly enhances emotional well-being\, lessens anxiety and depression\, boosts resilience and happiness\, leads to more satisfying relationships and can even help maintain healthy lifestyles such as nutritious eating and exercise. \nCourse themes include: \n\nPracticing self-compassion / Self-compassion and mindfulness practices for daily life and moments of stress.\nDiscovering your compassionate voice / Motivation with compassion\nSelf-compassion and resilience / Working with difficult emotions\nAddressing burnout / A practice for compassion\nLiving deeply / Journaling to reconnect with your values.\n\nWhat to expect \nIn the MSC program\, participants will meet as a group with a teacher(s) for 1.5 hours once a week for 6 weeks. Participants will learn and apply the three key components of self-compassion using meditation\, short talks\, experiential exercises\, group discussion\, and home practices. Participants will be provided materials (digital handouts and audio) to support what they are learning in the weekly sessions and for use during home practice. \nMSC is primarily a compassion training program with mindfulness as the foundation of self-compassion. The intention of the MSC program is to provide a safe and supportive environment for exploring how we typically respond when difficult emotions arise and to provide tools for becoming warm and supportive companions to ourselves. Please keep in mind that although self-compassion can be very therapeutic\, it is different from conventional group or individual therapy whereby the emphasis of the program is on utilizing resources of self-compassion and mindfulness through a process of self-discovery. \nIs this program for me? \nNo previous experience with mindfulness or meditation is necessary to attend MSC. This program is designed for anyone who is time-limited and wishes to integrate and cultivate greater self-compassion into their lives and/or work. \nThis short course is an adaptation of the empirically supported 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion program designed to begin cultivating the skills of self-compassion. Research shows that self-compassion significantly enhances emotional well-being\, lessens anxiety and depression\, boosts resilience and happiness\, leads to more satisfying relationships and can even help maintain healthy lifestyles such as nutritious eating and exercise. \n* Most private health insurance covers the cost of this program. SUMMARY:Mindfulness Basics Full Day Intensive Therapeutic Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Get resourced for the winter! Come rest and explore how mindfulness practice can increase resilience and reduce the effects of stress on the mind and body.\nFacilitated by: Jacqueline Milner\, Clinical Psychologist and Advanced Certified Mindfulness Teacher and Tom Wigan\, MBSR Certified Trained Teacher \nThis full-day intensive is an adaptation of the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program which introduces you to the core skills\, practices\, and principles of mindfulness and provides you with an opportunity to incorporate mindfulness into your life right now in a way that is both impactful and beneficial to you.  A variety of practices will be offered to assist you in discovering what works for you and ways to begin to establish your own personal practice. \nThe program is aimed at helping you:\n\nWork more effectively with stress\, pain\, and illness as well as the challenges of life.\nCope with anxiety\, depression\, feelings of being out of balance and/or overwhelm.\nRespond rather than react to difficulties and challenging emotions.\nCultivate a sense of well-being and confidence.\n\nWhat to expect\nParticipants will meet in person as a group.  The activities of the Mindfulness Basics intensive will include short talks\, experiential exercises\, meditation\, mindful movement and group discussions. \nDaily Schedule\n\n9:15 – 9:30 am: Sign-In\n9:30 – 12:30: Morning Session (with a 10-minute break)\n12:30 – 1:30 pm: Lunch Break\n1:30 pm – 4:30 pm: Afternoon Session (with a 10-minute break)\n\nIs this for me?\nThis group is open to anyone who is time-limited and still would like an opportunity to experience the transformational skills of mindfulness within an immersive\, retreat experience. This intensive retreat is also for health professionals who wish to begin integrating the core skills and principles of mindfulness into their work and/or are in much need of an opportunity to simply care for themselves. \nPlease keep in mind that this one (1) day program is a more “intense” and immersive experience than a MBSR program offered over several weeks.  Deep listening to one’s needs and responding with self-care throughout the day is encouraged. \nAlthough therapeutic\, our group programs are not a substitute for individual mental health therapy. \nMindfulness teachers are committed to helping participants feel safe and supported during the course. However\, participants agree at the outset that they will take primary responsibility for their emotional well-being. If you are unsure\, please get in touch with Breathe Mindfulness Centre for further discussion of the best fit for your circumstances. \nMeditation experience is not required. \n** Privately offered therapeutic programs/groups are not covered under MSI. However\, most private health insurance covers the cost of group programs. Please contact your insurance provider to determine whether therapeutic group sessions (in-person or online) offered by a Registered Psychologist are covered. \nCompleted registrations indicate understanding and acceptance of our Payment\, Cancellation and Refund Policy. \nCLICK HERE for our policies \nRegistration\nEnrollment is limited. Pre-registration is required as are enough enrolments for the program to run. If you have difficulty registering online\, contact admin@breathemindfulness.com. \nREGISTER HERE
