Come rest and explore how mindfulness practice can increase resilience and reduce the effects of stress on the body and mind.
This full-day intensive is an adaptation of the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program which introduces you to the core skills, practices, and principles of mindfulness and provides you with an opportunity to incorporate mindfulness into your life right now in a way that is both impactful and beneficial to you. A variety of practices will be offered to assist you in discovering what works for you and ways to begin to establish your own personal practice.
Work more effectively with stress, pain, and illness as well as the challenges of life.
Cope with anxiety, depression, feelings of being out of balance and/or overwhelm.
Respond rather than react to difficulties and challenging emotions.
Cultivate a sense of well-being and confidence.
Participants will meet in person as a group. The activities of the Mindfulness Basics intensive will include short talks, experiential exercises, meditation, mindful movement and group discussions.
This group is open to anyone who is time-limited and still would like an opportunity to experience the transformational skills of mindfulness within an immersive, retreat experience.
Please keep in mind that this one (1) day program is a more “intense” and immersive experience than a MBSR program offered over several weeks. Deep listening to one’s needs and responding with self-care throughout the day is encouraged.
Mindfulness teachers are committed to helping participants feel safe and supported during the course. However, participants agree at the outset that they will take primary responsibility for their emotional well-being. If you are unsure, please get in touch with Breathe Mindfulness Centre for further discussion of the best fit for your circumstances. This day retreat is not intended as a subsitute for individual mental health therapy.
Meditation experience is not required.
