Mindful Yoga

Find comfort in a deeper connection with yourself with our mood-balancing yoga

“When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others.” Peace Pilgrim

The word yoga means ‘to join’ or ‘to yoke’ and is the integration of the body, mind, and spirit.

At Breathe Mindfulness Centre, it is our deepest wish that you develop an inner sense of peace among your body, mind, and spirit. Mindful yoga is one pathway that can facilitate this and allow for the experience of mindfulness and its benefits when other mindful practices, such as sitting with focused awareness on the breath, are not accessible or suitable for you.

Suitable for all levels, mindful yoga is a safe, gentle practice that combines flowing between postures (asanas), mindfulness, and meditation. Unlike other types of yoga, the primary focus of mindful yoga is mind-body awareness rather than unique alignment and exact physical posture. By embodying the essence of mindful yoga (breathing, listening to the body, feeling what arises, letting go of judgments and striving, and being in the present moment), a deeper connection with the mind, body and spirit is encouraged. In addition to improving flexibility, strength, and mobility, mindful yoga enhances emotional and mental wellness and fosters a sense of self-acceptance, compassion, and empowerment. Used therapeutically, it can be a somatic treatment that helps reset the nervous system.

Yoga sessions at the Centre respect that there are individual differences in needs, movement and backgrounds.

Hands-on adjustments and focus on corrections are avoided. We encourage you to simply show up to your mat and view it as your sacred space, giving yourself permission to curate the practice you need for the duration of the session.
