Jacqueline Milner, (she/her), MSc.

Heart-led Clinical Psychologist and Wellness Expert in Nova Scotia

Jacqueline is the founder and director of Breathe Mindfulness Centre. A Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years of experience, she has provided assessment, counselling, and psychological services to individuals and communities across the Halifax Regional Municipality and throughout Nova Scotia. She is a Past-President of the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia (APNS) and has contributed to the broader conversation on mental health through teaching university psychology courses and offering interviews and articles for local and national media, including CTV and ATV News, Chatelaine, Today’s Parent, and the Parent-Child Guide.

Grounded in evidence-based psychological approaches, Jacqueline integrates therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) with advanced training in mindfulness and self-compassion. She holds certifications in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) and is a trauma-informed yoga teacher. Her work reflects a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of mind and body, with a focus on nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and sustainable well-being.

Since founding Breathe Mindfulness Centre in 2015, Jacqueline has expanded her work to include therapeutic groups, workshops, and retreats that integrate psychological science with contemplative and body-based practices. Jacqueline has facilitated wellness programs, workshops, and retreats for a wide range of organizations, including: Government of Nova Scotia • Veterans Affairs Canada • RCMP • CNIB • Nova Scotia Health Authority • Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre • West Hants Regional Municipality • Quarterdeck Resort • The Keltic Lodge • Digby Pines Golf Resort.

While Jacqueline has trained with leading figures in mindfulness and self-compassion, including Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, Dr. Zindel Segal, and Dr. Christopher Germer, her work is most deeply informed by her ongoing personal practice. This lived integration shapes her approach—creating spaces that are thoughtful, accessible, and grounded in compassion, where individuals can reconnect with themselves and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
