Come rest and explore how mindfulness can strengthen your resilience and soothe the effects of stress throughout the body and mind. This retreat will guide you in establishing a sustainable, consistent practice and integrating the transformative benefits of mindfulness into your life right away.

Facilitated by: Jacqueline Milner, Registered Psychologist/Advanced Certified Mindfulness Teacher

This full-day intensive is an adaptation of the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program which introduces you to the core skills, practices, and principles of mindfulness and provides you with an opportunity to incorporate mindfulness into your life right now in a way that is both impactful and beneficial to you. A variety of practices will be offered to assist you in discovering what works for you and ways to begin to establish your own personal practice.
THE PROGRAM IS AIMED AT HELPING YOU:
1. Work more effectively with stress, pain and illness as well as the challenges of life
2. Cope with anxiety, depression and coping with feelings of being out of balance and overwhelmed
3. Respond rather than react to difficulties and stress
4. Cultivate a sense of well-being and confidence
5. Live a more intentional and engaged life.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Participants will meet in person as a group. The activities of the Mindfulness intensive will include short talks, experiential exercises, meditation, mindful movement, and group discussions.
DAILY SCHEDULE
9:15am – 9:30am Sign-In
9:30am – 12:30pm Morning Session (with a 10-minute break)
12:30pm – 1:30pm Lunch Break
2:00pm – 4:30pm Afternoon Session (with a 10-minute break)
IS THIS FOR ME?
This group is open to anyone who is time-limited and still would like an opportunity to experience the transformational skills of mindfulness within an immersive, retreat experience. This intensive retreat is also for health professionals who wish to begin integrating the core skills and principles of mindfulness into their work and/or are in much need of an opportunity to simply care for themselves.
Please keep in mind that this 1-day program is a more “intense” and immersive experience than an MBSR program that is offered over several weeks. Deep listening to one’s needs and responding with self-care throughout the day is encouraged.
Mindfulness teachers are committed to helping participants feel safe and supported during the course. However, participants agree at the outset that they will take primary responsibility for their emotional wellbeing. If you are unsure, please contact Breathe Mindfulness Centre for further discussion of the best fit for your circumstances. Meditation experience is not required.

 *Privately offered therapeutic programs/groups are not covered under MSI. However, those with extended healthcare benefits (i.e., private health insurance) may be eligible for reimbursement. Please contact your health insurance provider for details as to whether therapeutic group sessions offered by a Registered Psychologist are covered.
